In this excerpt from a weekly SMFA Master Class call, I read from Chris Brogan’s amazing book called Trust Agents.
This reading and the discussion that follows digs into how to be genuine, real, and open with others while understanding what creates an influencer in real life and in media and online. As we are our own hype machines much of the time, our understanding of the power of leveraging trust is essential.
And since I referenced the Gary Vaynerchuk talk about his book Crush It at SAG-AFTRA Foundation, I’m posting it here again for those who’d like to dig in on it.
You needn’t watch beyond Gary’s segment unless you just really want to. It’s a bit “pitchy” in the “selling from the stage” regard and the info shared is pretty dated, unlike Gary Vee’s bit, which has stood the test of time pretty dang well.
Are you a trust agent? Do you engage in “trust agent moves”? This is similar to labeling a move “ninja,” really. 😉
Even if you’re not a gregarious leader or natural connector of others, are you someone buyers can turn to for what you put out in the world? The extensions into the world of acting and content creation and guiding this business itself are evident in this work.
What are you doing to connect authentically and build trust in the minds of your buyers?
This SMFA Master Class weekly call was recorded on June 17, 2012.
