Hello beautiful people!
Let’s analyze why this works.
And when you dig a tiny bit deeper — every time — the now-successful person will share that what made all the difference was believing in themselves, never tolerating conversations with others (or within their own minds) about how it was never gonna happen, and consistently working out the muscle for success.
Listen up!
What’s awesome about this space is that it was created with the primary intention of supporting a healthy existence for this new life you’ve so desperately worked to create. (Getting you the info about the inner workings of some next-tier Self-Management for Actors principles? That was secondary.) And just like with any precious seed, an incubation period is required for healthy roots to take hold. For some, it’s a longer period than for others.
When I think back on my pole fitness journey and I realize how very fragile I was at first, I am so grateful that I kept showing up. I am super grateful that I didn’t get results-oriented (seriously, the only goal I had sometimes was, “Don’t run out of the studio crying.” And on some days, that meant I stayed in the studio crying… but dammit I was NOT going to bail on myself and my goals) even as I watched my pole sisters fly so much further ahead of me so much faster and achieve everything I went in there craving (and so much more I’d never even dreamed of for myself). And I am most grateful that while I kept showing up — never getting results-oriented — I leaned on the support offered up by my classmates, my instructors, and even the studio owner! I trusted these people who said I could come to them with my questions, however humbling that process may have felt sometimes.
I remember being in the floor warming up and choking back tears. I had just had a spectacular day in my business. (You saw a glimpse of that day in my Day 50 images.) Here I was feeling on top of the world while feeling the lowest of lows, physically. I swallowed any sense of embarrassment and got up the nerve to ask for advice about how to modify a simple warm-up that was too challenging for my bod at the time.
And no one tried to make me feel like shit for having that need or — more importantly — for expressing that need. I remember that moment so clearly because I said to myself, “This is the actor asking me if her resume is formatted correctly after she just booked a national. She’s terrified that the booking was a fluke… while all she needs is two little tweaks in this theatrical resume of hers. Well… all she needs is that and to believe her success wasn’t a fluke. To believe that there’s more coming. To trust that she’s GOT this. And that she’s got me to talk to when she’s unsure about any of that.”
Once I could take it outside of my ego and put the scenario into a space where *I* am the one helping out, I became keenly aware that if I wanted more $10K days in my career I was going to need to create AND SUSTAIN a very safe place for that sort of success to become the norm. Further, if I wanted days in which I would eventually not only be able to struggle through but to nail The Jasmine, I very definitely had to keep up all the nurturing I was silently craving but hadn’t trusted that I could invest in for myself. I was going to need to create AND SUSTAIN a very safe place for that sort of success to become the norm too.
And that very safe place is what we have created for you here.
Today’s work: Share your plan for ongoing success. If you haven’t yet developed a plan, create one! And then share it. 😉 What are you going to do to stay invested in Next-Tier You? Whether it’s here with us that you do this ongoing support work, with your existing accountability group or pod, in masterminding or coaching with me, or in a collective you’ve yet to pull together but that you will launch within the next week so it’s ready to support you in a glorious ongoing way, it’s important that you surround yourself with people who KNOW it can be done. It’s vital that you continue to nurture this good work you’ve put in. The work you’ve done conditioning yourself to achieve and to maintain your long-term success is the most essential element to all the nuts-and-bolts goodness we’ve introduced and reinforced in this course.
I for one cannot wait to see you get to where you’ve always said you want to go. Have you given yourself the proper runway to make this launch happen? The plane alone isn’t enough, babe. There’s a big-ass crew of folks in several places making sure this baby leaves the ground safely and actually gets to its greatest heights.
