Hello beautiful people!
Let’s restructure attachment in two awesome ways.
Listen up!
Woof! I got a little emotional there, huh? Welp, what can I say? I’m ridiculously proud of this program, of the work you’ve been putting in, and of the progress I’ve seen from this POV. I can only imagine how it feels from your POV! I do hope you’ll share a little with me!
Back to these concepts just a wee bit more: Pronoia includes spotting pennies on the ground. (We *always* stop and pick these up! And we say the words, “Thank you, universe, for a reminder of the abundance in our lives.”) Once you’re really good at this, pronoia even includes your (or in this case, MY) baby car being hit while parked (no note, nada) leading to a paintjob you’ve (or in this case, I’VE) been wanting it to have for years. 😉 Of course, that’s the universe conspiring to get you something you won’t indulge in outright, but for which a non-injury (heck, you weren’t even THERE) minor collision will do the trick! Pronoia includes getting dumped from a casting gig you’d started working on… and then three months later learning the director got dumped, the money never materialized, and thank goodness you dodged a bullet by NOT having leaned on your Web of Trust relationships to get attachments for a project that wasn’t even real!
Pronoia starts out as great parking spots, though. 😉 Work your way up to Bon-level pronoia. It takes time and practice.
Care less of course doesn’t mean NOT caring. It just means taking the edge off some of the attachment we may have as deeply-feeling, highly-invested creatives. Because I care so dang much, I have the ability to work myself into a tizzy. I may try to figure out how to fix everything that’s wrong with everyone. You complain about a thing? I’ll give you multiple solutions. I forget that sometimes people complain NOT in search of a solution at all but just to be heard. I invest a lot of myself into a lot of people and there was a time at which I didn’t get a lot of return on that investment because I wasn’t too discriminating about into WHOM I invested all that energy and time.
Enter Keith’s words: “Y’know what would fix that? Care less.” Yup. Sure enough, over time, I started caring less about how I could fix everyone, how I could teach everyone, how I could make it work so that everyone could experience everything I was trying to offer no matter what their circumstances… and I became MORE of service to the RIGHT people at the RIGHT time, which is far more fulfilling for me and WAY more effective for everyone. I’m working more efficiently and the results are stunning for those who are ready to meet me for the workout.
Today’s work: Play with these two concepts. Look for evidence of pronoia in your life today. Pennies on the ground. Pimp-ass parking spots. The right number of pages in the printer. Looking at your phone at exactly 1:11 or 2:22 or 3:33 and so on. Signs, signs… everywhere signs! Next, see about adding a little “care less” to your life. When you feel yourself ultra invested in anything, breathe, ask yourself whether you could care a little less, then lean into that possibility. Start in easy on this one, as the whole phrase “care less” can challenge you. But I promise you, once you give it a little space to take hold, you’ll get addicted to it! You’ll lose none of your legitimate, authentic caring! You’ll simply soften your unhealthy attachments. Fascinating and liberating.
Extra credit: Be gentle with yourself and others around you who may be exhibiting a wee bit of resistance with your changes and shifts into next-tier you. Reflect on how much next-tier studying we’ve been doing and journal about how it’s feeling to start to recognize more and more of that next-tier you in the mirror. Respect and appreciate the challenge these changes may bring to those around you and lovingly release attachment to any of it that’s causing you to want to stay grounded in lower-tier behaviors. The ground? It’s overrated. You developed these wings so you could fly, baby. (Tweet it.) Let’s not miss out on that joyful experience ahead of us!
’til tomorrow… stay ninja!
