Hello beautiful people!
Let’s take a deep breath.
Are you skimping on this?
Please don’t. Really breathe.
You’re doing big work and a lot of it.
Today, I want you to think about some of this process as a gestation period.
Yes, we’re putting in the work to be sure we’re knocked up, but we’re also staying healthy for the run of the gestation period while we’re doing all the important fortifying of our space to comfortably and lovingly receive the new life we’ve committed to bringing forth.
“Those who are certain of the outcome can afford to wait and wait without anxiety.” — A Course in Miracles (Tweet it.)
Note from the J-school kid over here: Since recording the above vid, I learned the quote from A Course in Miracles is by Helen Schucman not Marianne Williamson. Cannot NOT set that straight. #AttributionJunkie
Okay… now that THAT’s sorted out. 😉
Today’s work: Breathe. Breathe deeply. Put your hand over your heart, close your eyes, and breathe deeply once more. Journal a bit. Reflect on the difference between the work of getting that dream life of yours started and the work of trusting that it is on its way. Consider when it may feel right to start shifting your focus from the work to START the dream life to, instead, making SPACE for its imminent arrival.
Feel free to flesh out details below, but do give yourself a little breathing room today. Revisit a previous day that needs a little love. Take a walk. Soak in a bubble bath. Move around to some inspiring music. Light a candle. Celebrate the spectacular work you’ve put in and enjoy the calm of KNOWING your already-done work *always* leads to your dream-life results.
Yes, there is more work to put in… but building the muscle for faith that the baby will come is important groundwork too. So start drinking in that feeling. Really sit with it. That comfort — that absence of anxiety — is going to become deliciously familiar.
If the pregnancy analogy doesn’t quite do it for you, let’s see this like waiting for an elevator after you’ve pushed the button and seen it light up. Stop pushing the button. That’s wasted, frustrated energy. Trust the lift is on its way to you.
’til tomorrow… stay ninja!
