I met Alice Cassidy briefly before the 2000 Artios Awards ceremony put on each year by the Casting Society of America. A longtime CSA member with many TV and MOW credits on her resume, Cassidy takes her job seriously, and thinks an actor should do the same.

“I Know My First Name Is Steven was my favorite project,” Cassidy said, simply.
Best Way to Get Seen by Her
“If you’re doing a show and you get the word out, a lot of [casting directors] will come. I went to six shows in three weeks while I was casting a pilot,” she recalled.
Trends She Has Observed in the Casting Process
“Trends change with the flavor of the month but I think there’s been more consciousness or paying attention to the training people have and the theatre background they have,” she said. “There’s an awareness now that’s incorporated into their thinking, to be aware of training.”
