Talent agent, artist, and creative connector Stacy Solodkin chats with author and Emmy-honored casting director Bonnie Gillespie about the bringing ease to the audition, being an energetic match with your rep, and thinking forward rather than reaching back.
Here’s the chat from our live session!
What are your key takeaways from Stacy’s interview from the SMFA Summit? Share below in the comments! 🙂
Stacy Solodkin is an agent, artist, actor, wife, friend, owner of Beth Stein & Associates, and cancer survivor. After being diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer, her life transformed into one she fully loved. She beat cancer with a combination of chemo, diet change, and all the holistic and alternative treatments she could find. While in treatment, she got engaged to the love of her life, whom she married in 2018. Also during treatment, she came back to her art and started making it for herself and for her soul. BSA is a boutique talent agency in Los Angeles representing actors of all ages for feature film, TV, and commercials. In addition to running BSA, she is the proud owner of an art gallery on Pico Blvd. in Los Angeles. She spends her days doing what she loves with the people she loves and enjoying every moment.
Stacy and Bonnie, this was such a gem of an interview! Thank you for asking and answering the tough questions so clearly. This was full of key info all actors need.
🙂 I was so pleased with this chat. Glad it landed so beautifully for you, Vanessa. Thank you for the feedback!
Yes Bonnie you ask the right questions I get so much out of each interview by the way you lead the person to talk freely – Stacy’s ideas on mindset and the way she tells clients when their mindset is off is as it should be in my eyes. I’m printing out the transcript to highlight – here are just a few things that stood out for me:
You want a 6’4″ French man type of agency.
Don’t come in the meeting negative.
I got this for you.
Don’t look backwards.
Get back up, stand up.
So many good takeaways! Thank you for the kind words about my interviewing style. 🙂 I really do enjoy the chats!
Loved listening to this again.
Stacy’s so much fun/so inspiring!
Yes. Loving her purple hair this week on IG too!
